Updated 23 July 2021
On the 30 June 2021 the European Commission announced that the UK would be able to participate in the Green Card Free Circulation Area (GCFA), which comprises all 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries as well as Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and Switzerland.
This takes effect on the 2nd August 2021 and will remove the requirement for Green Cards to be issued for travel within these countries. Following the MIB’s recommendation, we will continue to issue Green Cards up until the 2nd September 2021 via our dedicated inbox to ensure a smooth transition period.
After the 2nd September 2021, if you have any queries regarding the issuance of Green Cards please contact your local AIG representative as our Green Card inbox will not be monitored after that date.
For more information please contact your insurance broker or intermediary.
