Understand, collaborate & continuously innovate
Our Transportation Industry Group focuses intensely on the current and future needs of businesses in this sector. We direct our research and insight capabilities to understand their challenges and opportunities and we’ll partner with our clients and brokers to create tailored and distinctive value propositions. Meanwhile we will continuously enhance our products and services especially around transportation clients’ emerging exposures. All this is underpinned by our long-term industry commitment: to understand, to collaborate and to continuously innovate.
We target airlines, airports, marine ports and terminals, courier services, logistics companies, postal services and fleet operators.
We provide a range of products for the transportation sector from our specialist Marine and Aviation teams to Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Environmental, Trade Credit, Accident and Health, Motor, Casualty, Cyber, Kidnap and Ransom. This is especially valuable for logistics companies assuming new operational risks as they extend their operations within the supply chain.
Our team has many years’ experience in the transportation industry as former practitioners. They have gained deep insights into the practical challenges faced by these businesses, which supported by a range of intelligence led tools, data analytics and our understanding of the latest technologies, help us advise and provide consultancy services to help clients identify, assess and mitigate their business risks.
We can evaluate clients’ exposures across multiple areas of current and emerging risks (including transportation security, property damage, terrorism, cyber and environmental) in order to explore cross-class claims scenarios and examine current loss protection. Meanwhile our deep experience of handling transportation clients’ claims informs our client claims workshop and white boarding sessions.
The increased security threat from cyber and data privacy breaches is a top risk and a growing concern for executives in the transportation industry. Ransomware and hacking into transportation systems present real threats to delivery schedules and locations of high value goods for instance. AIGs range of cyber risk covers and extensive pre-loss prevention services may be especially attractive to these clients.
To support our transportation clients’ cash flow and maximise their business continuity after a major property damage claim, we will confirm coverage as quickly as possible and advance our client up to 50% of the agreed loss estimate within seven days for property damage, repairs, clean-up costs and extra expenses.
Our extensive analytics and modelling capabilities can help transportation clients in many areas from assessing the likelihood of future storm, earthquake and flood losses to evaluating the impact of climate change. Through the analysis of other client data sources, for example telematics, we can also benchmark clients’ data against their industry their peers, providing value adding insights.
For multinational transportation clients, the AIG Global network in over 200 countries delivers a globally consistent service experience. The same performance standards for policy issuance, contract certainty, regulatory compliance and claims, rigorously tracked and enforced, wherever they are worldwide.
We are proud to be a co-founder of the “Together for safe Roads” coalition of global companies collaborating to improve road safety. Within the workplace our complimentary health and safety eLearning system educates staff on essential occupational practices, testing their understanding to reduce accidents as well as well as providing an audit trail of training for regulatory compliance purposes.
